Ahhh… yes, now I have enough money to take a new laptop, I look up the website I want to take my laptop and it says I should take a PC. Now what do I do? Someone is telling take a laptop and another person is telling me take a PC. What should you take? Your confusion ends here. There are a few aspects to take a laptop or a computer. Read on to find out:

Portability

Now portability is one key aspect to the laptop vs computer never-ending rivalry(but not on this post) and portability is one major difference between both of them. With a laptop you can sit on a couch (I sat on my couch while typing this), you can sit on the table, in the cafe ,or the bed, or… wherever you want to use it. With a laptop you have the ultra-power of portability. You can go anywhere with it. Now if you take a computer you can’t just go roaming around with it to the cafe. With a computer you are confined to the desk of your home abode. If you are a person who travels a lot and likes to type and binge watch money heist on the couch and bed instead of sitting on the table and doing all these things. It is advisable to buy a laptop if you want to do the things mentioned before.

Performance

You won’t get the ultra fast speed on a normal thin and light notebook or an ultrabook that you get on a gaming laptop. But still… at the end of the day a laptop is a laptop whether it be a gaming laptop or an ultra thin notebook. The performance on a desktop/PC/Desktop(so many names ._.)is unmatched by the GREAT desktop no matter how thick the laptop is and however heat efficient the CPU is. Simply saying, it’s impossible that a laptop performs greater than a Desktop with the same specifications. IMPOSSIBLE. Although you can game on the go with a gaming laptop. Gaming on a gaming laptop is anyway not gonna be the best experience. You are anyway going to be wearing a pair of earphones at least and a mouse. Even if you somehow get a pair of headphones and a mouse, then your shoulder is going to have a nice exercise carrying them because gaming laptops have are going to have maximum thickness and even if manage to get them both then congratulations….. you my friend… are one of a kind. It is always advisable to take an Intel core I3 or I5 or their Ryzen 3 or 5 counterparts. It always depends on ‘what’s your usage ??’

Screen

A screen is one of the most important things in a laptop or a computer. You can have a perfect keyboard, perfect trackpad/mouse, perfect CPU and GPU but if your screen is bad then your ‘perfection’ that you call can turn into a nightmare. IPS screen is always preferred over the other screens. And for those gamers reading this, however FPS you play on, take that much hertz panel only. If you play on 120 FPS then buy only 120 hertz monitor and don’t buy 240 hertz. Trust me , you’ll waste your money. You can usually get good . bright monitors for a reasonable rate. Laptop monitors depend on the manufacturing company , if you want a gaming laptop then I’d prefer you look for Asus’s laptops ROG Gaming laptops as they are the best gaming laptops you’ll ever find on the market. Always take an anti-glare screen so that you are comfortable with you looking at it behind the bulb or tube light.

Keyboard and Mouse

This the third most important thing in a laptop/computer is the keyboard and mouse(I’m going to call the trackpad mouse). You can have all kinds of keyboards. If you have a computer, the power of customizability is in your hands. These days I would love to buy an RGB Keyboard. Oh, and the ones that have color customization in them .If you have a laptop you will almost always have a QWERTY Keyboard. It is always advisable to gat a backlit keyboard if you work late nights. You can work with only the trackpad or buy a mouse(wired or wireless is all up to you. I would advise wireless since you get good of them for a reasonable rate). If you are a gamer and you have a laptop then you will most probably have a backlit RGM Keyboard and in terms of trackpad vs mouse then you will obviously use the mouse. I once tried gaming with a trackpad, worst experience ever. I would always advise you to take a mouse even if you are not a gamer.

ROM/Storage

You have your lovely anti-glare screen , perfect keyboard and a super fast top of the line processor. Where to store your games and those priceless photos with your loved ones?? A 256 gig SSD. That’s right dear reader. Unless you have Ultra patience or you’re a monk it makes no. absolutely no sense to buy a laptop with HDD (hard disk drive)storage . HDD has moving parts so it’ll wear down quickly as compared to an SSD(Solid State Drive) and it’s WAY slower than an SSD. If you buy an SSD and then switch to an HDD. Then you’ll be able to get a 15 minute run(over exageration)and even get your dinner ready and even then you won’t be logged into COD:Warzone. Simply put an SSD is 2 to 3 times faster than an HDD and an HDD wears down faster than an SSD. So buy a laptop/computer with an SSD .Both devices are equal in terms of the speeds. It won’t make any much difference.

RAM

Now you have may have seen the ASUS ROG Phone 5:Ultimate with 18 GB of RAM. I think that is OVERDOSE of RAM for normal usage for any laptop and computer as well. Even for heavy multitasking , that is a lot, nobody will ever use 50 tabs in google chrome and have Spotify in the background with another app like excel or something like that. 8 GB of RAM should be enough for the average user. For gamers 18 GB of RAM should be enough. Hardcore AAA tiles take up a lot of RAM so make sure you got a lot of RAM.8 or 12 GB of RAM for these may be less. If you take a Chromebook then you need not need so much because it takes less RAM and if you take a Windows-based laptops then 8 GB of RAM is a must.

Battery life would make a difference only in laptops because you are consuming continous electricity so that won’t make much of a difference in computers. Just look for the best battery life the laptops in your budget. Thanks for reading this. Have a good day.
